And I feel I speak for a lot of us with that. The morning paper (Asahi Shimbun). After Shock. Traumatic Shock. Shock Shock.
I did NOT take this extraordinary bit of heartbreak. I just wanted to share a bit of post-9.0 earthquake life with those of you who do not live in Japan, but love and care for her nonetheless.
The day of the quake, and for a couple before, I had been suffering from horrendous pollen allergy. Debilitating, flu-like, unable to process thoughts…blowing my nose into T-shirts so I could find more dry spots than on a hanky.
…and then The Pacific Ocean swallows whole towns to burp up the bits. And the hay fever didn’t seem so bad…as compared to begging for Life to come out of the mud.
